Inaugural Public Lecture in Honor of Ken Walibora

Kibabii University’s Center for Languages and Cultural Studies (CLACS) invites members of the public, staff, and students to the inaugural Ken Walibora Public Lecture in remembrance of the distinguished scholar, writer and media personality. The event which will be held on 10th April 2024 from 10am to 1pm in Auditorium C will bring together scholars, students and lovers of Kiswahili to reflect on the outstanding works of the late Ken Walibora. The Chief Speaker will be Prof. F.E.M.K. Senkoro, Professor Emeritus of Kiswahili, University of Dar es Salaam.

Kibabii University is forever indebted to Ken Walibora for the precious time he spent training and mentoring students in the Department of Kiswahili and Other African Languages. Walibora is renowned for his creative works such as Kidagaa Kimemwozea, Siku Njema, Ndoto ya Amerika, Ndoto ya Almasi among many others. His impact on the current crop of Kiswahili teachers, scholars, writers and publishers remains immeasurable.
