The Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences (FASS) continues to make headlines, with its students gaining national recognition for their various outstanding work. Most recently, Nazril Sakina Orembo, a third-year Journalism student, saw her story “Yvonne Otunga Ang’ara Kwa Mashindano Ya Vyuo Vikuu” aired on NTV’s Mashinani programme on 28th March, 2025. She credits Kibabii University for providing state-of-the-art training facilities that have helped shape her skills.
“The University’s well-equipped media labs offer hands-on training in camera operation, photo and video editing, and news production,” she said.
According to her, growing up was always inspired by journalists on TV. She dreamed of one day giving a voice to the voiceless.
“Journalism empowers me to ask tough questions, uncover hidden truths, and develop critical thinking. Our trainers Miss Isabel Zattu and Miss Deborah Kisongochi are exceptional. We learn new skills every day, and I’m confident we’re being moulded into world-class journalists,” Nazril added.
She also acknowledged the Department’s lecturers for their invaluable guidance in script writing, storytelling, and creating professional journalistic content for various platforms.
