Kibabii University Social Work Students Association on 8th October 2022 engaged in one of their key goals as Social Workers by reaching out to children who are under care and protection at the Children’s Welfare Society; Kanduyi Children’s Home as part of their community outreach exercise.
The Association which was led by their leaders engaged in a number of activities that ran throughout the day. These activities ranged from general cleaning of the facilities and utensils, preparation of meals, engaging in various sporting activities with the children among others. There were also interactive sessions for the members of the association to share messages of encouragement with the children as well as an opportunity for our students to benefit from the social work knowledge from the members of staff in the facility.
The management of the home was really touched by the kind gesture from our students and expressed gratitude at the donations that the association took to them. The students thanked the management of Kanduyi Children’s Home for allowing them spend time with their children and learning a lot about their profession. The students also thanked the facility for engaging in a noble exercise of saving the lives and the future of the vulnerable children.
